  Room Assignment Information

• When can I move in?

  Housing opens for fall semester check in on Friday, January 5^th, at 9 a.m. Move in continues through Sunday, January 7^th. You do not need to sign up for a check-in time. Prime check in hours are between 9:00am - 6:00pm, but if you arrive after 6pm no worries! We will have staff on-call and available to assist you whenever you arrive;.  If you arrive outside of our scheduled office hours, you can contact the staff member on duty.  The staff member will meet you at the designated office and help get you all checked in.(Pro-tip, it’s a good idea to add these numbers to your contacts in case you need assistance later)

  Please login to your Residence portal and check your room assignment just prior to your arrival. Room and roommate assignments may have changed as we continue to work with students on the waiting list and last minute cancellations.

• What if I need to move in early?

  We do our best to accommodate early move-in when there is a real need for the exception. However, not all rooms are available and ready for early move in. If you are not required to move in early, please plan to move in the weekend of January 5^th. If you are required to be on campus early, please let us know immediately so that we can confirm if your room is available and will be ready for you. Common examples of required early arrival include things like participating in Experience Weber, Athletic teams, Marching band, campus student employees, International student orientation, and similar.

• What can I expect when I arrive?

  You will walk up to the office of the village you are moving into (Wildcat Village or University Village) where you will be met by a staff member who will confirm your assignment and issue your keys. We are so excited to welcome you!

• Will there be someone there to help me unload my car to move in?

  We ask for volunteers from the campus community to help with move-in on Friday and Saturday, and have generally had a good number of faculty, staff and student volunteers. Our goal is to provide as much assistance as we can, however, since this is a volunteer effort, move-in helper assistance cannot be guaranteed. Please plan accordingly. We also have a limited number of small dollies and flat carts available for check out.

• What can / should I bring?

  The has lots of helpful information, including information on prohibited items. It’s a good place to start. If you have specific questions or aren’t sure about a specific item, appliance, etc. please send us a short email and include information about the item(s) in question and we will reply as soon as we can.  When in doubt, don’t bring the item until you have received approval for it.

• Waiting Lists, Room and Roommate Changes

  As we have previously communicated, we expect to be at full capacity for fall move in. As of this date, we have a number of students on a waiting list for a room on campus. Our priority is to first accommodate as many students with a room on campus as possible. Afterwards, we’ll begin working on room and roommate change requests. We ask for your patience with the room change process. It may take several weeks before we are able to allow general room change requests.

• Meal Plans

  If you live in Wildcat Village, just a reminder that you are required to purchase a resident meal plan. If you did not participate in the early request to select your meal plan for fall 2023, you were assigned the Weber Basic meal plan.  You can request a change to your assigned meal plan during the first two weeks of the semester. After that time, you can only increase your meal plan, you can’t change to a smaller meal plan or drop your meal plan.  Meal plan change deadlines also apply to residents of University Village who have chosen to purchase a fall meal plan.
